The Diaries Of Entré-Konnect: The Launch... Or Not

The Diaries Of Entré-Konnect: The Launch... Or Not

This week was tough. Every day brought with it new challenges. More people were stepping up but the work kept increasing. See how we navigated through

Last week was all fuzzies and butterflies in our bellies. We had our heads in the clouds, hearts full of vision, eyes bright with color...what could possibly stop us? We thought that this week, the softies would continue. You guessed it right. We were wrong! It turns out birthing a start-up is hard work. Enough of the sad talk. Let me give you live gist. Come on, let's go.

Task Brief

As you well know, we receive "Deliverables" at the start of each week. This week, it landed at the not-so-start of the week - Tuesday, 14th of June, 2022. @drey just busy dey do us anyhow him please

I'll show you:

Of course, we got over the initial shock and sprang into work mode in our various sub-teams. This is what each sub-team accomplished:

Digital Marketing

Our Task: Commence implementation of your Social media strategy and Content Calendar for June on all platforms and grow your followers/audience to at least 100 on each platform by Sunday 19th June, 2022. Use Canva and Hootsuite for SM (social media) management. Get at least 100 users to sign up on the landing page created by Frontend Devs (Frontend Developers) last week.

Our Results: We were able to come up with content for a whole week. Yay for us! We had a lot of people step up to create great content as opposed to last week when only one person did all the work. You want to know how we got here? Ask the sub-team Lead @tori_ammy what she did.

What I'll tell you is that human beings respond to love, care and respect. If you want to get people to work, first show them genuine care.

Back to our contents - we are so sorry that we can't give you snippets on here just because we haven't put them out yet but we will this week so stay tuned for more. Oh no, don't be alarmed. We have content on our social media pages. The thing is, we have a strategy that we're following. Speaking of strategy, pray for our Graphics and Video Animation Team so that we can finally bring you our soft launch. We know you've been anticipating this all week.

Finally, do well to follow us on all socials, like our content and subscribe to our Newsletter so we can dish out hottt content straight to your email. Share with all your loved ones and anyone you know who needs Entré-Konnect in their lives.

Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and last but never ever can be least, our Website.

Thank you.

The Challenges:

  1. The sub-team Lead still had to do all the social media posts alone because of some internal issues which are currently being resolved.
  2. We haven't been able to follow our content Calendar the way we ought to because the content we need for the soft launch isn't ready.
  3. Our Twitter account got temporarily blocked but we're doing everything we can to get it back.
Graphics Design

Our Task: Create flyers for all the content on the social media calendar provided by the marketing team.

Our Results: We were able to create some designs for the Content Team to upload to social media. We followed the colors in our Brand Guide and collaborated with other Teams in order to get the job done. We can't show them to you yet because the Content Team hasn't "unveiled" them on social media. So, do well to follow us on all socials to see the beautiful designs.

The Challenges:

  1. We had to be without a laptop due to work-related circumstances and that limited the number of designs that could be churned out.
Product Design

Our Task: Complete work on low fidelity wireframes and commence work on high fidelity wireframes. 50% of high fidelity must be completed this week.

Our Results: After much back and forth, we were able to complete our User Stories and Acceptance Criteria and the User Flow.

The Challenges:

  1. We had to refer to our notes from the first 6 weeks of training in order to figure out the right wireframes to use and how but we were able to get it done right and on time.
Video Animation

Our Task: Create short video content for Social media Pages using content provided by the Content Team.

Our Results: We have an animation video done for the soft launch, we're just putting in the final touches.

The Challenges:

  1. It doesn't help much that the sub-team Lead is the major participant on the team.
Frontend Developers

Our Task: Start implementation of the UI provided by UI/UX team.

Our Results: This week, we optimized the responsiveness of Entré-Konnect's website. We also connected the 'Subscribe' button on the Newsletter Flexbox to Entré-Konnect's Mail Chimp account created by the Digital Marketing and Content Creation sub-team Lead. Finally, we automated a 'Thank you' message to all new subscribers just to ease the workload of the Content Team. Cheers to teamwork.

The Challenges:

  1. We could start implementing the UI because we received a late entry from the UI/UX sub-team.
  2. Our Coming Soon page is not fully responsive because the design was started from desktop mode instead of mobile.
Customer Relationship Management

Our Task: Create a FAQ chatbot using Tidio for your startup, the developers must add it to your website.

The Challenges:

  1. We weren't able to create a FAQ chatbot on Tidio because we discovered that need an active website to complete the registration.
Data Analytics

Our Task: Deadline for your week 1 task is tomorrow by 9pm :slightly_smiling_face:

Our Results: We were able to come up with a Survey using Google Forms. We also have a Nairaland Survey Dashboard chart. Whoo hoo!

EK Data Analysis Nairaland Dashboard.jpg

The Challenges:

  1. We needed a business email address, private or an academic address that could be used to register on Statista in order to extract data.
  2. Most datasets from Statista require a business email, but despite the business email, it didn't allow us to download the data we needed without payment ($39)

The Conclusion

Here's where we do a big, big shout out to our delectable Team Lead and her multi-talented Assistant, all the ever-capable sub-Team Leads and every member of Side Hustle start up 5 Team. Thank you all for your hard work and amiable character. It's been a pleasure and we look forward to many fruitful years to come.
