The story begins with Side Hustle Internship 5.0. So, let me lay the backdrop. Side Hustle Internship is a Nigerian-based training program with a vision to build Africa’s workforce. It was founded in 2020 in the wake of the Covid-19 global pandemic that threatened our economy like nothing we had ever seen before. Since then, Side Hustle has trained over two hundred thousand Africans in a variety of relevant fields like Engineering, Marketing, Product Design, Web Development, and so on.

The Setting

The comprehensive online training that Side Hustle gives runs for six weeks and empowers Africans with up-to-date technological tools that will stand them out on the global scale. It was in this training that destiny set our course. After six weeks of grueling training, an opportunity presented itself for us to put our newly acquired skills to the test – introducing Side Hustle Bootcamp. If you don’t already know, this Bootcamp is the real deal. No kidding. If you’re in doubt, read on. The Bootcamp comes in three packages; standard, portfolio, and premium.

Introduction

The Internship can be likened to the theory aspect while the Bootcamp is the practical aspect. For the next 6 weeks, my team and I will be bringing you a weekly update on how our start-up is taking shape. So, grab some popcorn and zobo because it’s gonna be menntttt.

Our start-up is made up of different professionals from all the Internship tracks. We’ll be working on this start-up for the next 6 weeks (we hope it lasts for a lifetime) and hope you enjoy and look forward to them as much as we have fun creating them for you. This is going to be a wild ride, so buckle up! have a pleasurable ride.

Our Task Brief

How We Started

After we received our task brief, a meeting was scheduled on the 6th of June, 2022 where we met ourselves through a Google Meet call and shared our expectations from the Bootcamp. We also went through the projects and by the end of the call, we had come up with our brand name, brand color, brand tag line, brand identity, and basically who our brand is. It was a very interesting time and we all had a good laugh. It was so beautiful collaborating and birthing this start-up with amazingly talented people online.

After much deliberation and meetings, we came up with the name ''ENTRÈ-KONNECT' and a tag line (...linking ideas). This is a platform that will enable entrepreneurs from different niches to connect and share ideas for business growth. Next, we received briefings on what each sub-team was to achieve by the end of the week. So, without wasting time, we re-grouped into our different sub-teams to bring Entrè-Konnect to life. The collaboration was just out of this world.

What We Have Achieved

Currently, we’ve completed our project 100%. Yay for us! Here’s a breakdown of what we’ve achieved so far:

• We’ve created our brand logo and brand guide
• We’ve created our social media strategy and content calendar
• We’ve created our coming soon landing page
• We’ve created a design system

Our Challenges

• The major challenge we faced was getting everyone on the same page, all 56 of us
• We also could do with some more involvement in sub-team activities

Final Notes

It was a tough and exciting process and here’s where we give a special shout-out to The Entrè-Konnect Team. You guys are the absolute best! Every sub-team Lead as well as our capable Team & Assistant Leads deserve a huge bowl of ice cream for all their hard work. Many of these Leads had many late nights and very early mornings to make this project a reality. Here’s to many more wins together. Cheers!
